The Mission Township Fire and Rescue Department will host the fourth annual Haunted Hayride on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Mission Park.
Gates will open at 5 p.m., and the little goblins will share a not-too-scary 20-minute Trail of Terror at 6 p.m.
The trail will be revamped for an adult hayride that will begin at 8 p.m. There will be no long line to wait in because of a group numbering system, and while waiting for their ride through the Trail of Terror, people will be able to go through the maze, which has been re-designed and has a theme this year.
There will be a bonfire and entertainment by the DJ. Food will be available for purchase, as well as T-shirts and glow necklaces.
Admission, which covers both the maze and hayride, is $6 for children 11 and under and $8 for adults 12 and up, with a $1 discount applied to the regular ticket price if either the coupon from the fire department's Web site or a food shelf item is presented at the gate.
Proceeds from this fundraising event will go toward the purchase of additional EMS and firefighting equipment to better serve the community.
Examples of equipment purchased through fundraisers include four gas monitors, ATV and rescue sled, thermal imaging camera, AEDs, pagers and radios.
