Crosslake Art Club to host August show

The 28th Crosslake Art Club Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, through Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Crosslake Community Center.
Admission is free. There will be door prizes and refreshments.
Paintings, prints and pottery will demonstrate the creativity of more than 35 club members. A gift shop will offer cards, bookmarks and jewelry.
Each day artists will share their techniques, including zentangles, sumi ink and watercolor, at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.
All proceeds go directly to the artists and the club.
A percentage of sales funds the Jim Stevenson Memorial Scholarship that recognizes the talent of a Pequot Lakes High School senior. Stevenson, who died last year, was a longtime club member who contributed greatly to the Crosslake area. To help boost the scholarship dollars, small originals for $10 can be bought.
