Knit-In for the Cure is Friday-Saturday in Nisswa

Posted: WEDNESDAY, JULY 11, 2012

The fifth annual Knit-In for the Cure will be held from noon Friday, July 13, to noon Saturday, July 14, at Utrinkets in Nisswa Square.

Kristy Yutrzenka, store owner and event coordinator, said Utrinkets is a collection point year-round for people to drop off caps, prayer shawls and lap blankets to be donated to people with cancer. People can also donate yarn toward the cause.

Likewise, people who need such items, or who know someone who could use them, can stop by Utrinkets.

During the Knit-In, knitting enthusiasts will gather inside and outside the store to knit or crochet items for cancer patients. Knitted items are donated to local hospitals and clinics, as well as treatment facilities statewide.
