Crosslake-FL/PL loses to LF 14-0; swept by Pierz

The Crosslake-Fifty Lakes/Pequot Lakes American Legion baseball team is seeking its first victory after five games after losing to Little Falls 14-0 on Tuesday, June 19, and dropping a doubleheader to Pierz 4-3 and 3-1 on Thursday, June 21.

Crosslake-FL/Pequot Lakes, which was scheduled to host Aitkin on Tuesday, June 26, will play Pierz at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, in Crosslake.

Little Falls 14, Crosslake-FL/PL 0

On June 19, Joey Hanowski tossed a three-hitter as Little Falls won in seven innings by the 10-run rule. Hanowski also led the Little Falls' offense with four walks and scoring four times. Mitch Gregory, Joe Tuholsky and Luke Thoma each had two hits for Little Falls. Nick Greiner was the losing pitcher as Little Falls enjoyed a 12-3 edge in hits.

Pierz sweeps

Crosslake-FL/PL

On June 21, Pierz remained unbeaten with two close wins. Pierz won the opener in seven innings as they enjoyed a 9-7 edge in hits. Ben Boser had three hits while Cody Weiss pitched all seven innings for Pierz. Losing pitcher Zach Cogan tripled and scored twice. Connor Chambers and Aspen Florey finished with a pair of hits.

In the second game, Logan Meyer was the winning pitcher in the five-inning game. Crosslake-FL/PL outhit Pierz 5-3. Noah Boser doubled and drove in a run against losing pitcher Aaron Parker.
