Local runners compete at Grandma's Marathon

Pine River and Backus residents competed in the June 16 Grandma's Marathon and Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon held in Duluth.

Grandma's Full Marathon was 26.2-miles long and the average time clocked was 4:21:28. The top finisher completed the course in 2:12:24.

The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, 13.1 miles, had an average finishing time of 2:09:54. The top finisher completed the half marathon in 1:10:57.
