CL-FL/PL Legion team opens with losses

The Crosslake-Fifty Lakes/Pequot Lakes American Legion baseball team opened the season by losing a doubleheader at Aitkin by scores of 6-3 and 13-0 on Tuesday, June 12.
In the opener, Aitkin enjoyed a 6-3 edge in hits as Jason Brezinsky pitched a complete game and struck out six to earn the victory. Peter Kostecka was the losing pitcher.
Austin Mesenbrink and Zach Cogan each had a hit while Mesenbrink drove in a run for Crosslake-Fifty Lakes/Pequot Lakes. Dan Lynn had two hits for Aitkin.
In the second game, Nathan Erdelman struck out four and pitched a complete-game victory. The only hit he allowed was by Aaron Parker. Cogan took the loss.
Brezinsky was 2-for-3 with two RBI for Aitkin.
Crosslake-Fifty Lakes/Pequot Lakes is scheduled to play a doubleheader at Pierz on Thursday, June 21.
