Pine River-Backus Community Education offers a Birding 101 class for adults from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5.
This two-part series will allow for in-class introduction to bird identification and bird-watching locations in Cass County on Tuesday, June 1, at Pine River-Backus High School.
Day two on Saturday, June 5, will be a hands-on field trip in the area (rain or shine), meeting in the PR-B High School parking lot.
Learn bird diversity, identification, use of binoculars and enjoyment of the outdoors.
Bring binoculars both days, a water bottle and Field Guide to Birds book (not required). Extra binoculars will be available.
Ben Wieland of Deep Portage Conservation Reserve will lead the program.
Pre-registration with a fee is required by May 27. Registration is through Pine River-Backus Community Education.
