Black Dog Bar & Grill in Crosby will host its fourth annual Spring Warm-Up Ride for Veterans, a charity motorcycle ride to benefit homeless veterans, Saturday, June 5.
Gail and Al Gustafson, owners of the Black Dog continue to work with the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MAC-V) to provide First Response Bags to veterans as they enter MAC-V's program. These bags are filled with basic necessities to help the veterans. You can make a donation of any of the items from the needs list. This list can be found on their Facebook page: Black DogGrill - under the "Notes Tab" or at the restaurant. Cash donations are accepted.
The entry fee for the ride is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers; 100 percent of that money will be used to purchase items for First Response Bags. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the Black Dog Bar & Grill (four miles north of Crosby on Highway 6 at County Road 11) with doughnuts and beverages, and the ride will leave at 9 a.m.
Stops include the Aitkin VFW, the Bungalow in Emily and the American Legion in Crosslake, before returning to the Black Dog where lunch will be served to all riders.
Raffle prizes for riders will include a $100 gift certificate for Dennis Kirk (motorcycle parts and Accessories Company).
