Board accepts resignations, hires two instructors

In Pequot Lakes School Board action Monday night, the board:

Accepted the resignations of Nick Phillips, industrial technology instructor; Patty Schofield, paraprofessional; William Agens, youth development program coordinator; Wendy Swenson, bus driver; and Lisa Martini, middle level volleyball and girls' basketball coach.

Agreed to hire Alex Kunesh as a science instructor and Travis Krahn as a mathematics instructor.

Accepted $4,838.99 in April donations. The Pequot Lakes School PTA donated $3,000 to the Literacy Library, the Patriot Foundation donated $600 to the Western Civilization classes' field trip, ProBuild donated $200 for the Patriot Pride program for the school's new picnic tables.

Adopted policies regarding final grade disputes and visitors to the school district buildings and sites.

Approved the non-renewal of five paraprofessionals due to the possible lack of need for their positions. Those paraprofessionals are Lori Blaukat, Leila Carlson, Jacob Hradsky, Mary Lawrence and Jennifer Quam.

Authorized the sale of three of the school's suburbans and the purchase of two new Chevrolet vans at a cost of $20,198.06 per vehicle.
