The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Improvement Course on the following days:
June 1 and 2, eight-hour full course, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Crosby/Ironton Public School.
June 7, eight-hour full course, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Pequot Lakes High School.
June 8, four-hour refresher course, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pine River State Bank, Pine River.
June 15, eight-hour full course, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Emily Charter School, Emily.
June 3, four-hour refresher course, noon to 4 p.m., Hallett Community Center, Crosby.
June 9, four-hour refresher course, 8 a.m. to noon, Lutheran Church of the Cross, Nisswa.
The driver improvement course is open to the public; pre-registration is requested. A Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor teaches this class. People age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years. First-time participants must complete the initial eight hours of training and a four-hour refresher class every three years to maintain the discount.
