Spring sports season opens with track meet

Pequot Lakes track team members took a few laps around the high school track in late February. The Patriots open the spring season on Tuesday, March 30, with an indoor meet in Bemidji .
The 2010 Pequot Lakes Patriots spring sports season kicks off on Tuesday, March 30 when the boys and girls travel to the indoor meet at Bemidji State University.
The Patriots are scheduled to compete at a second indoor meet at Bemidji State University on Tuesday, April 6, before opening the outdoor track season on Friday, April 9, at Pierz.
Former assistant coach Brian Kazmierczak is the new head coach for girls' track while Dave Guenther returns as head boys' track coach.
The Pequot Lakes varsity baseball team is scheduled to open the season on Thursday, April 8, at Upsala. The Patriots' varsity softball season is scheduled to open at home on Thursday, April 15, against Pierz.
The Pequot Lakes boys' golf team opens against Duluth East on Friday, April 23, at The Pines. The Patriots' girls' golf season opens with the two-day Brainerd Invitational on Thursday, April 22, at The Preserve, and Friday, April 23, at The Pines.
Varsity team photos, previews and schedules for the Pequot Lakes Patriots and Pine River-Backus Tigers will be published in the annual High School Spring Sports section inserted in April.
