The Rangers, who elminated Pequot Lakes in the South Subsection 8AA semifinals, advanced to this week's state tournament by defeating Thief River Falls 57-43 in the Section 8AA final. The Cardinals missed a chance to advance to state after losing the Section 6AA final against New London-Spicer 71-68 in overtime on a three-point basket at the buzzer.

Other players making all-conference were Derek Wolhowe and Jon Bristow of S-M; Mark Hoge, Brock Tesdahl and Matt Hudrlik of C-I; Tyler Fode and Josh Stalberger of Detroit Lakes; and Scott Syverson and Ryan Nelson of Wadena-Deer Creek.

All of the all-conference players were seniors except Moody and Stahlberger.

Other honorable mention selections were Paul Dirks of Park Rapids, Tler Dickie and Sam Baker of C-I, Jordan Peterson and Jason Johnson of S-M, Jordan Reed of W-DC, and Brian Labat of Detroit Lakes.

Each of the honorable mention selections are seniors except Labat, who is a sophomore, and Reed, a junior.
