I’m trying to think of something to write that’s catchy and fun, but I keep looking outside at the dreary weather and it’s giving me a serious bout of writers block.

Rain sucks. Let’s just be honest about it. We can say it’s good for the golf course, and it is, but who cares. I don’t like it. I want sunshine. I need sunshine. How else can I maintain my ridiculous golf tan lines?

The Peninsula Oilers dominated the final edition of the Alaska Baseball League Conference Leaders, finishing first in seven individual hitting categories. They also finished with the best team ERA.

ABL Player of the Year Mike Miller finished with a league-best .378 average. The second-year Oiler was tops in runs (29), hits (48) and triples (three). He also finished third in doubles with eight and tied for third in RBIs with 21.

With their pursuit of a fourth National Baseball Congress World Series championship set to begin, the Peninsula Oilers have added four players to the roster.

Joining the Oilers are relief pitchers Hunter Lemke and Conner Kendrick of the Anchorage Bucs, outfielder Boomer Collins of the Bucs and designated hitter Stephen Branca of the Mat-Su Miners.
