Even though all leagues are "officially" over, the seniors and ladies continue to play Mondays and Tuesdays.

Monday saw 10 senior men come to play at 10:30 a.m. as we had a frost delay and had to wait for 30 minutes for the frost to come off the greens.

Low net was split three ways between Pat McElroy, Don McGhee and John Davis. The longest putt went to Don McGhee. Closest to the pin on No. 6 went to Sid Cox and to John Davis on No. 8.

The seniors will continue to play on Mondays, weather permitting.

After a year off, the Soldotna High School volleyball program will put on a Dig Pink event Tuesday.

The event starts with a C team match between the Stars and Kenai Central at 3:30 p.m. A junior varsity match will follow, and the Kardinals-Stars varsity match will start about 6 p.m.

All players will wear special T-shirts with the Dig Pink logo.

Dyllan Day scored on a 10-yard rush on the first play of double overtime, Robin Glosser intercepted a pass in the end zone on the ensuing possession and the host Homer football team defeated Kenai Central 21-14 in a wild Northern Lights Conference game on homecoming Saturday.

It's the Mariners' first win over the Kardinals since 1992, according to Homer coach Camron Wyatt.

"It means so much to the program," Wyatt said. "We stepped toe-to-toe with one of the best organizations in the state as far as football goes."
