It has been an honor and a privilege to have served the people of the greater Soldotna area both in my former profession and as a previously elected council and assembly member. I have found that being a local elected official is a way to give back to the community, and after a year of reflection, I am seeking to serve on the Soldotna City Council once again.

Sterling is one awesome place to live. Thanks to the entire Sterling community. Special thanks to Clint Hall, Dave and Leore Pooler, Jim and Deb Bass and Foggy for the Spaghetti and Auction Fundraiser.

It was a fantastic time and Sterling is the only place to live. It helped out a lot.

Kenai River King salmon may you rest in peace.

We have taken away your biggest and your best. We have over-fished you and we have badly mismanaged you. As sport fishermen, are we sorry — probably. Will we do anything about it before it’s to late — probably not. At least not as long as the last vestiges of your species remains the focus of our almighty tourism dollar.

This is a letter of thanks to Bob Frates, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Kenai, for the effort he puts forth on behalf of the City in making the Kenai River Marathon a success. Bob was somewhat reluctant in the winter of 2004-5 when asked by a few of us on the KEDS committee wanting to make use of the Unity Trail ... but we needed a Director to have a marathon. With some nudging and support of the City’s Mayor and administration he took the challenge on.
