In a work session Monday, Sept. 10, the Pequot Lakes School Board hosted discussions regarding the school district's 2019 preliminary levy.

During the discussions, the board was presented with a proposed tax levy of $5,855,586, which is a yearly increase of $180,654.

The increase coincides with increases and further projected increases to district enrollment numbers. The high school is currently boasting all-time high enrollment numbers and the district anticipates an increase by roughly 50 students at the middle- and high-school levels by the 2020-21 school year.

The board will approve a preliminary levy at its Monday, Sept. 17, meeting and will approve a final levy in December.

Board member Kim Bolz-Andolshek attended the work session remotely from Philadelphia.
