Nominations sought for Teacher of the Year
Nominations are open through Nov. 15 for the 2019 Minnesota Teacher of the Year.
Eligible nominees must meet the following requirements:
• Teach in a public or nonpublic pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade school, or in an Adult Basic Education or Early Childhood Family Education program, working at least 50 percent of the time directly with students.
• Have earned a bachelor's degree and a Minnesota teaching license.
• Have completed five years of teaching by the nomination deadline.
• Intend to teach during the 2019-20 school year.
Anyone may nominate a teacher, and self-nominations are accepted.
The 2019 Teacher of the Year will be named at a ceremony on May 5, at the St. Paul RiverCentre and will become a candidate for the National Teacher of the Year.
