Intensive management comments due Dec. 30
Written comments on proposed intensive management plans for wolves on the Kenai Peninsula are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 30.
The Alaska Board of Game will take up proposals for predator control in Units 15A and 15C at its meeting Jan. 13 to 18 at the Anchorage Hilton Hotel in Anchorage. The Board of Game tabled a decision on Proposals 35 and 36 at its meetings last month in Barrow, citing a lack of a required feasibility plan and faults with legal documents.
If passed, the proposals would authorize aerial wolf hunting in Unit 15A, the upper peninsula, and in Unit 15C, the lower peninsula near Homer. Proposals may be found on the Fish and Game website at www.boardofgame.adfg.alaska.gov.
Submit written comments to the Alaska Board of Game, Boards Support Section at P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, AK 99811-5526, or fax to 907-465-6094.
Comments submitted for the November meeting need to be resubmitted to be part of the official record.
