A Ninilchik man died Friday night after his motorcycle collided with a truck in Ninilchik.
Lewis Gerald, 33, was flown to an Anchorage hospital via Life Med helicopter, but succummbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Alaska State Troopers dispatch received a report at 7:44 p.m. of a crash at the intersection of Easy Street and Burlwood Lane. Investigation revealed a Chevrolet truck driven by Ninilchik resident Greydon Campbell, 17, was southbound when Gerald's northbound Honda motorcycle crossed the center lane and collided with the truck head-on.
Campbell was not injured in the crash.
Gerald was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Anchor Point troopers, Soldotna's Bureau of Highway Patrol, and Ninilchik Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
The investigation continues.

I would like to know how this guy crossed a center lane when there is no center lane,this road is a dirt road not gravel,that is barely enough room for 2 cars to pass each other.both motor bike and pickup had to have been going pretty fast for the guy wearing a helmet to be killed
