Whitefish Women’s 9-Hole Golf League starts May 8

The kickoff for the Whitefish Women’s 9-Hole Golf League is Wednesday, May 8, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. followed by the spring luncheon.

Participants do not have to be members of the Whitefish Golf Course to join the women’s league, which welcomes new and returning members. Women may join at any time during the season.

The league plays Wednesday mornings starting May 8. There are weekly prizes, monthly luncheons and other events.

The spring meeting of the Woodtick Wheelers ATV/OHM Club is Saturday, April 27, from 9-11 a.m., including a free pancake breakfast, trail updates, 2013 club ride schedule and new club gear.

Speaker will be Josh Stevenson, Cass County land commissioner.

New members are welcome.

Directions from Hackensack: Go east two miles on County Road 5 and north three miles on County Road 122. The road turns left. Go 1.5 miles, go right at Y, then first left. Watch for signs.

Thursday, May 2, marks the start of the 2013 Crosswoods Men’s Golf League.

Men of all abilities play 18 holes at Crosswoods Golf Course every Tuesday and Thursday morning throughout the summer, concluding in mid-September.

This is an informal league in which foursome teams are formed each session to compete in a variety of games. It’s a format that works well in our vacation area where not everyone can commit to playing every session.

Madden’s will host a Women’s Golf Night kickoff at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, to kick off the 2013 season.

The event will feature a full swing clinic at the Madden’s Driving Range followed by a social reception at Parfecto Pizza. It’s open to female golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Cost is $20 per person, which includes the full-swing lesson and pizza buffet.
