Bo Borowski netted a goal, with assists from Turk Scatliff and Kyle Whipple, at 2:33 of overtime to lift the Breezy Point North Stars past Twin City Steel 4-3 on Saturday, Feb. 23.
The win was Breezy Point’s first since a 4-3 victory over Peoria (Ill.) on Dec. 9, and snapped the North Stars’ 19-game losing streak.
The Steel built a quick lead with two unanswered goals in the first stanza before Tyler Reichl scored. The North Stars outshot the Steel 48-36 as goaltender Walker Ensted kicked away 33 shots for Breezy Point.
Breezy Point, 4-39 overall, has road games against Granite City on Sunday, March 3, North Iowa on Friday, March 8, and Minnesota on Sunday, March 10.
