The visiting Morris-Benson Storm edged the Northern Lakes Lightning boys’ hockey team 6-5 in overtime in a non-conference game on Thursday, Jan. 24.
Neither team led by more than one goal in the game, which was tied five times. The Lightning forced overtime on Aspen Florey’s power-play goal at 12:21 of the third period.
The Storm’s Brody Gimberlin won the game with a power-play goal 17 seconds into the overtime.
The Lightning, 7-10 overall, is scheduled to play at Monticello at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31.
Kegan Couture picked up four points on a pair of goals and two assists. Also netting goals were Ben Moe and Jake Hyytinen.
Mitch Stangel made 27 saves in net for the Lightning.

Aspen Florey scored twice while teammate Kegan Couture added a goal and three assists to lead Northern Lakes past the Prairie Center Area North Stars in a non-conference game Tuesday, Jan. 22, in Sauk Centre.
