Breezy Point drops 14th straight

The Breezy Point North Stars were defeated by Twin City Steel 4-1 in Tier III junior hockey action on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Breezy Point Arena.

It was the 14th straight loss for the North Stars, who dropped to 3-35 overall. Breezy Point is scheduled to play at Granite City on Friday, Feb. 1.

Anthony Martinez scored to give the North Stars a 1-0 lead against the Steel. But Twin City came back with two goals before the opening period would end, and added one more goal in each of the final two periods.

Winning goalie Sawyer Marshall stopped 45 shots while Breezy Point’s Erikur Arnason had 30 saves.

On Friday, Jan. 25, the North Stars were defeated by the Alexandria Blizzard 5-1. Breezy Point’s Bo Borowski scored, with an assist from Kyle Eberwein, in the third period. The North Stars were 0-9 on power-play opportunities. Breezy Point goaltender Ian Shidlofsky kicked away 40 of the 45 shots he faced.
