Pequot Lakes High School senior Savannah Stone won the overall women’s giant slalom race for the first time and finished fourth overall in slalom in a Federation Internationale De Ski (FIS) event at Loch Lomond, Ontario, Canada, last weekend.
Stone recorded a winning time of 1:19.56 despite rainy conditions in the women’s giant slalom on Saturday, Jan. 12.
After overall slalom competition on Sunday, Jan. 13, Stone’s time of 1:57.37 ranked fourth overall. The Crosslake skier made adjustments for the icy conditions on Sunday.
The field of racers included the St. Olaf College team and the fastest U-18 women in the Midwest and Ontario.
