The Pequot Lakes junior varsity boys’ basketball team split two home games – losing to the Crosby-Ironton Rangers 52-50 on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and then defeating Grand Rapids 51-38 on Thursday, Jan. 10.
Against C-I, the Patriots enjoyed a 25-24 lead at the half. Jack Kreitz scored a game-high 17 points for Pequot Lakes while Connor Davich added 12, Jon Bocklund six, and Brandon Hehir and Jackson Goerges each had four.
Against Grand Rapids, the Patriots drained nine three-point baskets in the win. The game was tied 8-8 early when Pequot Lakes rallied as Kreitz, Larson and Goerges all nailed three-pointers for a 17-10 lead. The Patriots built a 29-14 halftime lead.
Kreitz had a team-high 12 points, Davich added 11, Goerges nine, Larson six, Borleis five and Hehir had four.
