The Pequot Lakes junior varsity girls’ basketball team split a pair of games last week – beating Perham 55-16 on Thursday, Jan. 3, and losing to Esko 49-41 on Saturday, Jan. 5.
The Patriots grabbed a 19-0 lead against the Yellowjackets, and led 32-11 at the half. Caitie Ryan led Pequot Lakes with 15 points while Kelsey Hart added 13, Laura Squires 11, Emily Buell seven, Alex Nelson six, Caitlyn Carkhuff two and Jessica Faacks one.
On Saturday, the Patriots fell behind Esko 23-11 at intermission. Pequot Lakes rallied in the second half to tie it 39-39 on a baskets by Hart and Ryan.
Ryan led the Patriots with 20 points while Morgan Lohmiller had nine, Hart six, Barb Miller four and Faacks two.
