We have to quit electing Ivy League lawyers to make decisions that affect our economy. Many of these lawyers never held a real job (including our president).

The federal government never produces anything but misery. They first extract money from us, shuffle it around, then return a small portion back to the states. It reminds me of the happy dog who has his tail cut off then half is fed back to him. He is so happy because you feed him half his tail.

My criticism of Mr. Bye’s writing stands. The beginning of his original Jan. 24 article makes casual reference to an article “in the Strib,” and references Congressman Tim Walz. He then touches on several different topics.

Toward the end of his article he presents his false information about the NRA rating system, making no reference to his source, no quote, no mention of the information coming from a reliable source. He did, however, slam the NRA, one of the oldest, largest and most successful advocacy organizations in the history of the United States.

A little over a week ago I had a problem where I could not breathe. My wife had the presence of mind to immediately call 911. Thanks, Jo!

I became a little confused but next thing I remember, some man “Matt” was sitting in front of me, working on me and applying oxygen, etc.

To make a long story short, I was soon on my way to the hospital.

Well, I am still around to continue to bug people and it might just be possible what Matt did for me had something to do with it.

Last weekend was the annual Winter Jubilee in Nisswa and as in the past years, I went to watch the parade and enjoy the snow sculptures. This year some things made me wonder.

I wonder if people know what goes into the making of such a sculpture.

I wonder if people know how difficult it is to work hour after hour in the cold weather.

I wonder if people know that one family has been doing snow sculptures every year of the 41 years of the jubilee.

I wonder if people know that this year this family put in 150 man hours constructing their masterpiece.
