I consider myself one of many people who have had the privilege of knowing Cathy Bettino. I first met her at the age of 15 when I was a student at the ALC in Pine River. Every morning when I walked in she was always there to greet me with a “Good morning, Sunshine,” even if I wasn’t feeling the sunshine that day, along with many one-on-one chats about life in general.
Looking back on it now, I give her the title of having been a “mother mentor” to me while my younger sister was fighting cancer. I know she has had that effect on many others as well.
One of the greatest things I take away from having known Mrs. Bettino is that hard work will take you very far in this life, and I feel that it is her own hard work that has gotten her to where she is today.
