Stop the Sibley Cartel
I wanted to thank all the readers who called or approached me with comment on my recent column. I am greatly touched. The overwhelming, positive comments have proved to me that “old” Pequot residents truly are tired of the way the Sibley Cartel is running our city.
Their boorish snobbery was again proven at the last city council meeting when they refused to consider the one-year tax-equaling option, opting for the three-year plan, which will, in the end, add up to a 15-year tax break for Sibley residents.
A couple of the cartel members even tried for a six-year option, again proving the cartel’s greed.
I want to remind you good Pequot people, there are two ways to stop the cartel. 1. We can organize and demand to dissolve the merger, thus returning the two entities to pre-2002 local government status; or 2. We can attempt, at the next election, to elect officials who will listen to the residents of “old” Pequot and give us a voice in our government.
The choice is yours; let me know your opinion.
If we don’t act, the greed will continue; a fact that’s been proven multiple times!
