Community supports

our greatest assets

More than 180 people turned out to celebrate the April 8 Week of the Young Child event.

Families were able to enjoy visiting with the Cass County sheriff’s deputies, K-9 unit, Smokey Bear and Early Childhood staff. Families participated in hands-on activities such as making butterflies, windsocks and vehicle snacks. They planted seeds to get our Minnesota spring growing and played with sand and corn in the sensory tables.

Kids were able to use the two Bouncy Houses as an energy outlet, as well as stompers, sensory path, tunnels, streamer and balls. The School Readiness program donated books that enabled every child to take one home.

Thank you to all families, community members and volunteers who helped make the 2013 WOYC event a success. Keep your eyes open in April 2014 for information on next year’s event.
