legislator stands for
In the Feb. 28 Brainerd Dispatch’s article “Push for gay marriage under way at Capitol,” I was appalled to see in large print 10A Rep. John Ward say he is “undecided ... on this hot-button issue.”
John has been an activist and advocate for gay marriage at our Capitol, but do not take my word for it, take his. Go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5MwhjIo3wc. Or just type “John Ward on Marriage” in your search bar on your computer and watch the first Utube video that pops up.
Be sure to watch to the end where he is yelling very passionately how we must allow “these people to marry.” John I wish you were as proud of what you believe here at home as you are at the Capitol.
Be informed on what your representative stands for or votes for, as it will affect or infect your children’s grandchildren.

It appears there is a strong sense of bigotry and hatred in Doug Kern's reference to the inevitible granting of civil rights to gays, "...as it will affect or infect your children’s grandchildren."
Like the decline of the regressive GOP and what it stands for, it is only inevitible that the rightwingnuts' opposition to giving gays the same constitutional rights as other Americans.
Whether it's this legislative session, or next, it's just a matter of time. Then our children's grandchildren will look back and ask, "Why were gay people denied the same rights as other Americans? It seems so hateful, unscientific and un-American."

What I do resent is the politicians, who accept money from the people in exchange for passing laws, under the pretense of regulation, that is only intended to limit competition.
I especially resent the liar in the White House, who acts like he cares about the little guy, while winking at the top 1%. Along the way, the liar in the White House has increased his net worth over 1000%. Take Obamacare for example (the name is a misrepresentation, because Obama had virtually nothing to do with it), why are we insuring the uninsured. It would be cheaper for the society to pay the actual medical bills for those who cannot pay. Insuring the uninsured is just a reward to the big insurance companies.
I also resent the bottom feeders, such as yourself, that want the government take from the haves, and give it to the have-nots.
