My criticism of Mr. Bye’s writing stands. The beginning of his original Jan. 24 article makes casual reference to an article “in the Strib,” and references Congressman Tim Walz. He then touches on several different topics.
Toward the end of his article he presents his false information about the NRA rating system, making no reference to his source, no quote, no mention of the information coming from a reliable source. He did, however, slam the NRA, one of the oldest, largest and most successful advocacy organizations in the history of the United States.
Such negative commentary requires citing reliable sources, not assuming that another writer is accurate.
After reading the Jan. 24 article, I spoke with Echo management and provided accurate information and sources. I suggested Mr. Bye take the opportunity to correct his error in his next column. He did not, so I submitted the correction.
Now, in typical liberal fashion, he attacks me for correcting his error. If I may quote him, “The complex issue cries out for a more reasonable approach.”
My tongue-in-cheek suggestion to the Echo remains: Say a permanent goodbye to Mr. Bye.
Tom Lund,
Longville

Wasnt there one county in
Wasnt there one county in Penn. where there was not one vote for Mr. Romney?
REALLY!
Considering the amount of "whackos" Nutz
is using in her posts It's obvious that she spends alot of time listening to fat Al Shultz.
How sad..
Nutty is a disciple of Al Schultz and Ed Sharpton.
No doubt that Nutty gets all of her information from Ed Schultz, Al Sharpton, and Keith Matthews.
Moment of silence for Nutty and Jackpine's loss.
Nutty and Jackpine, I am sorry for your loss. I know Hugo Chavez meant a lot to you.
LOL!!!!
LOL!!!!
More evidence proves rightwingers wrong, once again
More gun laws = fewer deaths, 50-state study says=Gun-nuts and rightwingnuts wrong, as always.
http://news.yahoo.com/more-gun-laws-fewer-deaths-50-state-study-224508338.html
Then morons, like the Echo Whackos rant that the more guns, the safer it is. Whackos!
All that proves is that Nutty
All that proves is that Nutty Nancy is naive.
The belief that someone who's planning to go on a killing spree is going to turn in a gun because it's made illegal is almost as nuts as going on the killing spree. Yet, the gun grabbers in the Democrat Party operate on the assumption that nut jobs like Adam Lanza or a gangbanger who sells crack for a living is going to get rid of a high-capacity magazine if Congress says he can't have it.
Nutty isnt very bright!
Scary facts for Nutz
In an accompanying commentary, Garen Wintemute, MD, MPH, of the University of California Davis, also stressed the study's methodological limitations.
"Ecological studies of association are inherently weak ... [and] correlation does not imply causation," he wrote. He also pointed to other flaws in the study design, including its reliance on anti-gun organizations for data on state gun legislation.
"In the end, [the study authors] provide no firm guidance," wrote Wintemute. "Do the laws work, or not? If so, which ones?
In case Nutz missed it

Just sent this off to the echo...
" "personal attacks or harassment of others" (from your forum guidelines for participation)
I think Rightwingnuts again has shown he/she cannot abide by the rules of your forum. The post contains the following exact phrase.
"Ds.Gusting, it is becoming increasingly more obvious that you are the same extremist wingnut as Tom Lund."
Commentors banter back and forth but they can do this while enjoying their own little anonymous world. This differs greatly when they attack an individual based on his personal and political viewpoint.
I believe he is in clear violation again by attacking Mr. Lund and labeling as he/she did. He/she has also attempted to besmirch my character but who cares, it's just a made up chat handle, not a real person. Please follow your own rules and block him/her from the website."
Enjoy that, chinstrap
