Ambrose E. “Bosie” Miller
Ambrose E. “Bosie” Miller, 84, of Crosslake, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at his home. He was born to Nap and Rose Miller in Oklee, Minn., on Dec. 19, 1929. He was a barber for 50 years, four while serving in the U.S. Navy, two years as an apprentice under his father, and 15 years in Hopkins, Minn. In 1971, he decided to go back up north and bought a farm near Bagley, Minn. He built a log barber shop in Bagley and also drove school bus there for 29 years. In 1998, Ambrose sold his barber shop, in 2000 his cattle and in 2002, sold his farm, then moved to Manhattan Beach east of Pine River to be near family. Though he was retired, he drove school bus for Pine River/Backus for three years. He truly missed the north country, his farm and his many friends.
