Rev. Norman William Schramm
The Rev. Norman William Schramm, 88, of Pequot Lakes, formerly of Bloomington, Minn., passed away peacefully Oct. 17, 2013.
Norman was called to do the Lord’s work and studied at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo., graduating in 1949 and later became an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He married Mildred Ackermann on June 19, 1949, in Lakefield. Together they served in Wilton, N.D., from 1949-52, in McIntosh, Fosston and Mentor, Minn., from 1952-56 and at Lutheran Church of the Redemption in Bloomington, Minn., from 1956-91.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Teresa; and siblings, Lois Kietzer, Gerhard and Walter. He is survived by his children, Mark (Liz), Matthew (Sharon) and Jonathan Schramm; son-in-law, Jim Browne; grandchildren, Andrea, Luke (Abbie), Madeline (Tyler) Folsom, Joel and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Brak and Brodie; sister, Dorathea Wentzel and brother, Martin (Dawn).
Funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 25, at noon at Lutheran Church of the Redemption, 927 E. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington with interment at Bloomington Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., Richfield, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Synodical and District Mission activities.
