Sandra Lauretta Jensen
Formerly of Ideal Corners
Sandy passed away on May 15, 2013, in peace at her home in Homer, Alaska, after struggling with COPD. She was born on Jan, 26, 1942, in St. Paul, Minn., to Wendell Belmont and Lauretta Francis Oddon. She graduated from Johnson High.
She moved up north to Ideal Corners, where she bartended at the Old Milwaukee Club for many years. Then moving to Alaska in 1984, first to Nome, then Sitka, Wrangell, Fairbanks, then Homer where she called home. She loved the outdoors, fishing, swimming, card playing, cooking, agate hunting, her faithful dog, Sadie, and always a good story or joke.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wendell and Lauretta and sibling, Bruce and Terry Oddson. She is survived by sister Mary Jane Johnson/Olson; brother, Jeff Oddson; daughters, Michele Jensen and Denise Reed; granddaughter, Amber Nelson and great-grandchildren, Alanna, Kresslynn and Travis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes with reception following at the back hall of the Pequot Legion. Burial will be at a later date in St. Paul.
