Irene Kitzmann, 85, of Hackensack, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Birchview Gardens in Hackensack. She was born April 11, 1927, in Davenport, Iowa, to Julius and Emma Kiefer.
Irene enjoyed artwork, drawing, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by her son, Matthew (Debra) Kitzmann of Backus; sister, Sally Duncan of Iowa; grandchildren, Joshua (Sara) Kitzmann, Jacob (Brittney) Kitzmann; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Grace, Ayla and Page Kitzmann.
Her parents; husband, Eugene; son, Michael; and brother, Julius Kiefer Jr., preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Backus with Pastor Jeff Broom officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
