Clester Stanley “Eric” Erickson
Clester Stanley “Eric” Erickson, of Hackensack, was born to Selma and Clement Erickson in Bath Township on Aug. 17, 1920, and passed from this life on Dec. 20, 2012.
Clester attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and became a skilled welder. He married Mable Boyd in 1944. He lived in Hartland, Minn., from 1950-72. Clester worked for National Tank Maintenance Corp., Kofstad Construction, Northern Valley Packing Co. in Hollandale, Minn., and Cochran’s in Waseca, Minn. Clester married Barbara Studier Hautte on June 20, 1970. An avid fisherman, Clester realized his life’s dream in 1972 when he purchased Birch Haven Resort in Hackensack.
The Pow-Wow Shack would rock when “Eric” played the button-box or strummed the guitar. Eric was a jack of all trades, master of many. He was musically, mechanically and artistically talented. From creating wrought iron railings to telling tall tales to the grandkids, Eric did everything with gusto and a twinkle in his blue eyes.
Eric is survived by five daughters, Christine (Bruce) Peterson of Mt. Iron, Minn., Carolyn (Tom) Kirsch of Albert Lea, Minn., Marilyn (Ron) Kubick of Owatonna, Minn., April (Todd) Brooke of Hackensack, Minn., and Tanis (Stuart) Volby of Hackensack, Minn.; three sons, Scott Erickson of Hackensack, Minn., Jack (Isa) Erickson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Eric Ray (Jody) Erickson of Owatonna, Minn. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held.
