John “Jack” Allin Lever Sr., 84, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minnesota.
Jack was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Leeds, Iowa, to Charles and Mayme Lever. Jack was raised in Minneapolis, graduated from South High School and the Minnesota School of Business. He grew to prominence in the information systems field working for the top food companies, including Pillsbury and Peavey/Conagra Foods, before retiring to travel with Laurel, his wife of 64 years.
After RVing for several years, they became summer residents of the Cinosam neighborhood on Gull Lake and winter residents of Sun City West, Ariz.
Jack is survived by his wife, Laurel; his sons, John Jr. (Pat), Elysian, Minnesota, and Scott, Kauai, Hawaii; his daughters, Melinda (Joe) Re, Lake Shore, Minnesota, and Marie (Ted) Egger, Plymouth, Minnesota; nine grown grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and a nephew.
He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Friends can call an hour before services at the funeral home.
