Ralph B. Painter

Ralph B. Painter, 72, passed away suddenly on April 8, 2013, at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.

He was born Dec. 2, 1940, on a farm in Storden Township, Minn., to Florence and Lyle Painter. Ralph graduated from Lamberton High School. On Oct. 28, 1961, he was united in marriage to Darlene Jensen. Most of Ralph’s career was spent in sales. They lived in the Minneapolis area until retirement when they moved to the Nisswa area in 2004.

Rebecca “Becky” Erdman

Hackensack

Rebecca “Becky” Erdman, 67, of Hackensack, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids.

She was born Dec. 26, 1945, in Billings, Mont. Becky was manager of a waterbed store and also a truck stop in Montana. She drove truck with her husband for three years and delivered mail around Ten Mile Lake for 12 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary for 19 years, serving as president for four years, as well as several other positions.

Virgie Birge

Backus

Virgie Birge, 94, of Backus, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at her home. She was born to Harvey and Bessie Holden on Aug. 16, 1918, in Backus.

Virgie is survived by her children: Patsy Birge, Joyce (Dick) Ecker, Larry (Theresa) Birge, Gary (Annie) Birge, Barbara (Scott) Hendricks, Sharon (Gary) Olson, John Birge, Rebecca Birge, Janice (Mark) Beckler; 55 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virgie was also like a second mom to her extended family members, Aamber Zaffke Smith (deceased), Blair Zaffke and Celeste Zaffke Wilson.

Barbara Olson, 96, of Breezy Point, passed away June 9, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society, Pine River.
