Minnesota peony expert Harvey Buchite will present “A 2013 Premier Presentation of Minnesota’s Grand Peony History” on the history and role of Minnesota peonies within the state as well as across the country as part of the next Kitchigami Regional Library System Legacy Program.

He will be at the Pequot Lakes Library at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, and at the Crosslake Community Center at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22.

Friday night, Feb. 8, has been designated as a Family Fun Night for the families of preschool through elementary-aged children at Eagle View Elementary School.

This free evening of family activities will feature the well-known Minnesota based music group, the Teddy Bear Band. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

The Teddy Bear Band is a real band, playing real instruments, in real time. In this age of computers and pre-programmed entertainment, the band believes it is important to give kids a musical experience they can see and feel for themselves, as it happens.

North Dakota State University

The following students graduated from North Dakota State University in fall 2012:

Michelle Gastecki of Breezy Point received a Master of Science in zoology; Brandon Mitchel Smith of Nisswa received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.

Drake University

Danielle McKay of Nisswa was named to the Drake University dean’s list for the fall semester.
