On Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Pequot Lakes Library will again offer to the community’s children a certified pet therapy dog named Rocky.
The kids will read to Rocky. For this reason the program is limited to kids of reading age.
Because dogs are naturally nonjudgmental, children, especially those who struggle with reading, can benefit from reading to them.
Rocky, 11, is part husky, is very mellow and loves children. Although he has spent time visiting with older people at rest homes, this is his first time in a reading program.
