“Succession planning is so important that in a recent study, 80 percent of companies in the U.S. said their number one concern was keeping up with the demand for leadership,” said Sally Klauss, who teaches supervisory leadership courses to people all over the country.
Klauss teaches her online Supervisory Leadership course and certification sponsored by Central Lakes College’s Customized Training.
Klauss has an extensive background in management, employee training and development, total quality management and business management. She is also a leadership coach specializing in management development. She has experience teaching this program at Riverside Community College.
“My course is not your run-of-the-mill management course,” she said. “It will help you to determine the specific aspects of leadership, so there’s a structure, but the individual input and feedback you’ll receive helps you design and connect with your own unique leadership style.”
The course covers areas such as communication skills, ways to attain buy-in and support, concepts around problem-solving and decision-making. These life skills help not only supervisors and managers but also anyone wanting to improve the quality of their home and work life.
The course is offered four times a year.
Klauss also facilitates The Management Boot Camp course, which is one month long.
“The Management Boot Camp is a great opportunity for new and experienced leaders to get in shape quickly and easily,” she said. “The course covers the fundamental, yet often misunderstood aspects of leading, and provides step-by-step processes resulting in strong leadership.”
