A 20-hour, low-pressure boiler operator course will be held from 6-8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, Jan. 24-March 4, in the Business and Industry Center at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
This course offers participants an opportunity to prepare for taking the second, first and chief class boiler exams. It covers 0-15 P.S.I.
Instruction will include: Attendance Requirements for Heating Boilers, Safety Issues and State Boiler Rules.
Textbooks will be available the first day of class. The class fee of $349 includes books and materials. Testing and application fee for licensure will be an additional fee for the student.
Dave Horn is the instructor. There is no class Feb. 11 and 18.
Advanced registration is required and the deadline is Jan. 17.
Boiler exams are given by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. All applications and affidavits for boiler operator licensing must be pre-approved and pre-paid 15 calendar days prior to the exam date. Call 651-284-5544 for information regarding the new license procedures.
