The Pine River Chamber of Commerce is inviting those interested in volunteering at the Pine River Chamber of Commerce Information Center to attend an informational meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the Information Center along Highway 371.  

Duties of volunteers include opening and closing the Info. Center, giving out area information and maps, greeting the general public and light maintenance of the Information Center.

A general knowledge of the area and the state is an asset. Volunteers should enjoy visiting with the public.

Plans for the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and Minneapolis Heart Institute (MHI) building in Baxter continue to progress after the Baxter City Council approved the development agreement for the building Tuesday, April 16.

The new Baxter clinic will be located at 13205 Isle Drive. The clinic in Baxter will be a third addition to CRMC’s locations. An outpatient clinic is located in Longville and CRMC’s main campus is in Crosby.

Ken Mackley is the new director of information technology at Cuyuna Regional Medical (CRMC) in Crosby.

Mackley has more than 20 years of healthcare information technology experience. He started his career in information technology at St. Joseph’s Area Health Services in Park Rapids as the data processing coordinator.

The staff at Boyd Lodge in Crosslake will host a Brainerd Lakes Chamber CHOW luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1.

During CHOW, Boyd Lodge will provide chamber members with lunch, information about its business and door prizes.

On Silver Peak Road in Crosslake, Boyd Lodge has opened its new check-in, store and banquet facility for 2013. The Whitefish Lake Room has panoramic views of the waters and woods for weddings, corporate retreats, family reunions or crafting weekends.
