Amy Sjoblad, branch manager of Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union (MMFCU) in Pequot Lakes, was recently named to the Brainerd Lakes Chamber board of directors.
Sjoblad, with MMFCU since 2006, was chosen to represent the Pequot Lakes community on the chamber board.
“Amy brings an ideal blend of experience as both a small business owner and a financial professional who serves small businesses,” said Matt Kilian, Brainerd Lakes Chamber CEO. “She will also represent the Pequot Lakes area communities, which are a vital part of our regional chamber.”
In addition to being a busy mother of two and wife of Ryan Sjoblad, owner of The Hungry Loon in Pequot Lakes, Sjoblad is treasurer of Community Action of Pequot Lakes, a Junior Achievement volunteer since 2005, a Kinship mentor, as well as a member of the Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions.
“I am very excited about this opportunity,” Sjoblad said. “The Brainerd Lakes Chamber is one of the strongest in the state, and I couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to represent Pequot Lakes, a city where I’m deeply involved personally and professionally.”
Sjoblad said she is eager to use this venture with the Chamber board as a vehicle to become more involved with legislation to promote local tourism and growth.
“I hope to be able to share my energy and enthusiasm for the city and the area in an effort to attract additional business and tourism, and investment to the Brainerd lakes area,” she said.
