Local artists, crafters and retailers are opening new stores or expanding their selections for this year’s holiday season.
Inside the Jack Pine Center in Pequot Lakes, local artists Steven Weagel and Cyrus Swann have opened an art show and sale through Jan. 1.
Swann is a potter whose dishes, wall art, vases and platters are on display and for sale at the store, near the Hungry Loon Cafe.
Weagel, a glass blower and metal sculptor, has his steel sculptures on display at the store, which is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Weagel’s glass artwork is on sale at Lakes Latte, where several artists will have their works on display.
Holly Rose has her jewelry on display. She makes jewelry using unique and vintage parts to create original necklaces and more.
Holly Ulm will also have her jewelry on display at Lakes Latte. She creates jewelry from real, preserved butterfly wings.
Weagel, Ulm and Rose will have their displays up through the holiday season.
Boardwalk Scoops is hosting Anastasia Boutique, where a variety of gifts are on display. Gifts include kids' hats and mittens, kids' clothes, handmade purses, scarves, embellished sweaters, ornaments, wreathes and arrangements.
Anastasia Boutique is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
