Lakewood Health System recently received two Community Transformation Grants for their work with area counties.
Stratis Health, a nonprofit organization that leads collaboration and innovation in healthcare quality and safety, awarded Lakewood more than $9,500 for the installation and training of SuiteRomeo software. This software works with Lakewood’s electronic medical record system to optimize the provider/patient relationship and provide consistent structure for information received.
The second grant was awarded by Health 4 Life through Cass, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties. Almost $4,000 was given for Lakewood staff members to attend the Centricity Healthcare User Group (CHUG) conference, which focused on making the most of electronic medical record systems.
The Centers for Disease Control supports local communities by awarding the Community Transformation Grant to organizations to design and implement community-level programs that prevent chronic disease such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
