On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29, alpaca breeders from across the United States and Canada will invite the public to come to their farm or ranch to meet their alpacas and learn more about these inquisitive, unique animals, the luxury fiber they produce and why the alpaca business is good for environmentally conscious individuals.
Locally, Serenity Now Alpaca Farm in Jenkins will welcome guests for many free activities from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 28 and from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 29. In addition to alpacas and alpaca products, there will be goats and goat products from a neighboring farm available.
Serenity Now Alpaca Farm is located at 35460 County Road 15, Jenkins. Take Highway 371 north of Pequot Lakes to County Road 15 in Jenkins. Turn right after the Jenkins park and go 1.5 miles; the farm will be on the right. Look for signs.
