Dr. Steven Senica, an experienced obstetrician/gynecologist, has joined Essentia Health’s Baxter Specialty Clinic located at 13060 Isle Drive in Baxter. He’ll also see patients at the Good Beginnings OB Clinic at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.
Bringing a baby into the world is Dr. Steven Senica’s favorite job. “People always remember the birth of their child and it’s gratifying to have a part in bringing a family together,” says the obstetrician/gynecologist. “There are all these emotions – people are anxious, excited, nervous – and you get to help them through it. Then the baby is born and all that disappears into an overwhelming sense of joy and relief.”
As a father, Dr. Senica understands those emotions. Fifteen years ago, he and his wife, Traci, were preparing for another round of in vitro fertilization when they had the opportunity to adopt Victoria, their oldest daughter. Three months later, an ultrasound revealed Traci was pregnant with triplets. Cameron, Julianna and Abigail were delivered by Caesarean section at 34 weeks. Each weighed around 4 pounds.
“We went from no kids to four kids in less than a year,” recalls Dr. Senica, who has a unique understanding of the challenges couples face with infertility and a pregnancy with multiple babies.
Dr. Senica earned his medical degree from Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. He served a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill.
Dr. Senica is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in obstetrics and gynecology.
