The Pine River Lions Club had a busy summer of projects in and around Pine River. The club sponsors road cleanups on sections of both Highway 371 and Highway 84 each year and both sections reflect the Lion’s cleanup efforts.

The Pine River Lions also hosted their annual Summerfest Pancake Breakfast, sponsored their annual Lions Date Calendar, volunteered to manage the camping duties at the Lakes Bluegrass Festival as well as served breakfast each morning for festival goers, and they participated in Heritage Days and volunteered at numerous Pine River-Backus School programs.

The club has made many donations throughout the year, one of them being a donation to the Pine River-Backus School library fund to provide books for students.

The Pine River Lions always welcome new members and those interested are invited to contact Doug Zaske at Heartland Real Estate, Diane Johnson at Station 371 or John Wetrosky at the Pine River Information Center for information on membership. The club is dedicated to serving the Pine River area.
